The Ariston anode plus plug is designed to slow down corrosion and rusting in immersion heaters. It is made of magnesium, which wears out faster than steel. When water corrodes the magnesium, this releases electrons into the tank and forms a protective barrier around the tankâ€™s steel, thus prolonging its lifespan.

An Ariston genuine spare, this magnesium anode is designed for use in the water pipework of the Classico range of boilers.  In a boiler a pipe either allows water into a heating unit, including the mains water supply and the pipework on a wall jig, or is found within an appliance and carries water between the various mechanisms that require it, including the diverter valve and heat exchanger.
